Radiosophy ships its first radios

More than two years after its creation, a North Sioux City-based company has begun shipping its first high-definition radios.
Radiosophy LLC's MultiStream HD receiver, which retails for $269, receives digital signals broadcast by traditional AM and FM stations, as well as multiple digital streams and analog signals.
"We're excited to be shipping the MultiStream HD to the loyal customers who have waited patiently with us throughout the extended design and manufacturing process," Bill Billings, founder and chief technical officer, said. "We feel this radio is well worth the wait."
The industry's first transportable, table-top HD model, Radiosophy's receiver won acclaim at the 2005 National Association of broadcasters convention in Las Vegas, taking home the highest technical honor at the annual gathering.
